I have known Gaynor and her family for 34 years and in that time I have always watched and admired the relationship between Mr & Mrs Francis and their children Hugh, Ashley, Garth and especially Gaynor. I was always welcomed into their homes with true affection hugs and kisses from everyone. Mr Francis was a gentle soul with a great sense humor. I admired his poise when dancing and I shyed away from the ever present video camera. Mrs Francis 'Sunshine' you will miss him dearly but know that he is always near. Gaynor I know you were 'Daddy's girl' to him, cherish the beautiful memories you have made my friend as they will warm your heart for years to come.

Heartfelt condolences to the Francis family ❤️

During Mr Francis’ illness and with the news of his passing, the sadness of it impacted me as I saw the devastation and pain of this immense loss with my dear friend and her family, but the loss of a friend’s parent also causes one to reflect on the mortality of one’s own parents, oneself and one’s loved ones. Whilst watching Mr Francis’ beautiful funeral, it was clear to see the legacy that he is leaving behind. He was deeply loved for his authenticity, love for others, kindness, work ethic, values, talents, and sense of fun. The photo montage, songs and speeches came together as a colourful tapestry of a life beautifully lived, a life that gave back and brought joy, a lifetime of happy memories, of beautiful children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to carry on that legacy. And I thought, what a beautiful way to be grieved, loved and remembered. Mr Francis, you ran your race well and I believe that you were welcomed warmly into your heavenly home, where you are living the epitome of a joyous, eternal life in the presence of your Saviour. Thank you for inspiring me afresh, to live a life that matters, that gives back, that makes people laugh and cry for all the right reasons, and that will continue to live on long after you have gone.
